This vigorous upright tree is probably a hybrid between Acer palmatum and Acer shirasawanum. Deeply cut leaves are purple-red in spring, later turning to purple-green. Prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil. 8' tall x 4' wide in 10 years. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.
